The Finnish Hemophilia Society (SHY) is a non-profit patient organization for finnish people suffering for hemophilia-A, hemophilia-B, von Willebrand disease or other rare bleeding disorders. Our membership consist of patients, their families and relatives and health-care professionals. SHY is located in Helsinki, Finland. We are working nation-wide in Finland. At the end of year 2006 SHY have about 800 members. Society is a national member organization (NMO) of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH). Society has founded in 1969. Our mission
Actvities of the Finnish Hemophilia Society SHY offers a wide range of member services: meetings, member newsletter, publications, distributing information and organizing rehabilitation. We are working in every way to improve level of hemophilia treatment in Finland and help our members to get good care and to manage their disease. We co-operate with other hemophilia organizations in other countries and take part of international hemophilia meetings and congresses. PLEASE NOTE: The Finnish Hemophilia Society is NOT supporting our members financially. We have phone service only in finnish language and only for members of SHY. We have NO medical advisory service on the phone or e-mail. We are NOT distributing drugs or supplies. Contents of this web site In these pages contains basic facts about bleeding disorders and their treatment in Finland. There is also a comprehensive finnish-language patient quide loadable in pdf-format for free. In finnish, you can found more more detailed information about SHY and our activities. Most of material is in finnish language only. We hope, however, that our link collection and these few english pages will help also non-finnish visitors. |
